Buenos Dias LeRoy and Carolyn
Cannot think of too many more things, but that bolt measurement on the exhaust riser seems long. Did you get the drug locker (sounds wrong for some reason) checked out? Did you find the circuit breaker for the fresh water pump? It is the one at bottom right marked "spare".
Got 4 boats in the shed on Sat, could not open the big door on Sunday, came off the track, going to be fixed today.
All boats out except Kevin R and Phillip Sullivan, docks next Sat.
Mary and I are driving today to Greenwood for a funeral , One of my pharmacy classmates passed away, she wrote a message to all her friends for daughter Kate to send: "This is to inform you that Rose Mulvale has died. She didn't lose her
"battle with cancer"; she won, after living well with it, she left - and took it with her..." We will be back Wednesday AM.
Will have to pick up the "jockey Red" sunbrella, not enough here for new dodger also window materiel, will stop off in Halifax on the way home.
Must ba a lot of cruisers on the river by now, hurricane season chases them up there.
Hope you are having fun, regards to everyone, have not heard from Lou and Kookie.

Dear LeRoy & Carolyn: Glad all is going well. I just received shocking news this morning (Saturday, Oct 19) that Carla (Dwayne's wife) was killed in a car accident this morning at 3:00 a.m. It's only about 10:00 a.m. now so we don't have many details. The children are up with Robert and Grace and are understandably very upset. Will touch base with you again. Please keep us in your prayers. Luv Gail

Thanks for the measurements, The new white materiel came yesterday, would be nice to have a template for the new one, but go ahead and cut!!!
Batteries, AH what can we say... they automatically charge both, there is no switch system, guess we will have to "cook" them when we go down. The inverter has an option to give them a high charge to sluff off the salts on the plates, if this does not work we will have to replace them again.
There are two new fans in the back of your van, we sent down with you in boxes, use them.
Carolyn, please check the medicine box in the locker behind the head, Need to know what pills are there and expiry dates, so we can bring fresh, especially the 282 mep, Tylenol 3 and PVFK 500 ones, There should be 50 of each. OK
Also the first aid kit there also. Please check.
Will get back again tomorrow if I think of more.

Hi Again LeRoy and Carolyn
Keep coming up with questions... Please send me the measurement of the dodger from deck to deck, and the measure from the back to the front above the window. Were you able to find the window materiel? If not I will need the approx amount of window to bring down.

I think Lube has a friend into canvas repair. Also ask him if our spare transmission is ready, someone was installing the stub shaft, and if he had any luck with our little Honda generator.

Take Carolyn over to Tortugal Marina for lunch some day, notice all the paintings and art work on the table tops, we met the guy (Peter) who did all that in La Ceiba, Honduras last year.
Last race yesterday, not a good day, spinnaker start, we crossed too soon and kept going, Blew out the spinnaker at the lighthouse she is now in three pieces. By the time we cleaned up, we looked back and MYAH's Canada flag Spinnaker was in more pieces than ours. Overall not a good afternoon, like standing in the cold shower tearing up $100 bills...
Boats out next Sat, and docks out the following Sat.
Have fun

LeRoy
Two things come to mind, at 3AM... 1: Please get me the part # on the radiator cap for the exhaust coolant. 2: How many days did they give you for the van in Guatemala? Whitecap is on her 9 month extension, and has to leave the country and come back in again to start the process over.
Got 2/3rds of the boat house cleaned up yesterday, just desks, file cabinets, hospital beds left.

Sent message to Lou and Kookie, no answer yet.
Last race of the year today Sunday, Peter Mellish sailed Hawnalea to Dundee, cape Breton where they will bubble her for the winter, Lloyd is going to use his trailer. Boats out next Sat,
Time is getting short

LeRoy, just another thought about le dodger, the white reinforcing tape sewed to the inside seams has been UV'd and comes off in strings, I have just been cutting them off with sizzors. Is that what is wrong???
Also have the propane on/off system here and have replaced the sensor with a new one. Wish you were back here, we could load up the van again!!! Looks like 6 bags and 2 monitor boxes worth still to go down with us.
Have a new 120AMP alternator with a timer switch, so we can get 40+ amps out of her for whatever time we set her for, that should charge the batteries quick quick... By the way please check the battery fluid level, Chiqui's store has battery water in blue bottles, keep the bills and I will fix up later.

Finally!!! Yep the server went down and we just got back online today.. OK got the message, so I also need the approx measurement for the new dodger materiel. I think there is already new window materiel on board, check that out please. Old dodger is 20 years old guess it is time to replace, we will use the old one as a template for the new one. The zippers should be OK but let me know.

Did you get the blurp about the transmission repair? Have to lift the back of the engine high enough to get a "brake cylinder reamer" in there to smooth the surface. I will bring that down also, about $18 at cdn tire.

Getting cold up here, wood stove going 24hours now. The geese started landing this week, about 1000 out front of the house this AM, noisey bast...ds, wake us up at dawn. For some reason there are snow geese mixed with the Canada geese. The new beach at the west end is almost complete, they are building/starting the boardwalk and skateboard path now. Walked part last Sunday AM sand nice and firm, and no seaweed smell.

Please check the guest book more often, case there are other things going.

Hi LeRoy and Carolyn
Look at your messages!!!!
Need to know ASAP if it is the red "Dodger" or the white "African Queen" that needs replacing??? Today I ordered US $600 of materiel for the A Queen replacement but if the dodger needs to be replaced I have to order it quick quick!!!!

Have the parts to repair the transmission, it is only the "shift shaft" that has seized, Ivan Coughlin in Lot 16 showed me how to fix it. We only have to disconnect the shaft and the exhaust and lift the rear up high enough to remove the "shift shaft", Ivan says it has bound up from metal filings (from the plates)???, easy to fix but have to put a magnet underneath to hold the filings from doing it again. Better than lifting out the whole engine.....

Also ordered new "rubber boots" for the exhaust manifold, coming from England they are... yea really, imagine a German motor in a Canadian boat, docked in Guatemala and parts coming from England for repair... Small world eh.

Tentative plans: leave via auto for Miami Nov 10 about 5 days driving with a stop at Mary's sisters. Fly to Belize City and bus to Tikal about the 16 or 17th.

Kids back at school & college.  Skating starts soon.  We are going to see Elvis Stojko skating show in Chtn on nov 6. We'll be taking the boat out in a week or two.  We've had some strong winds but your boat is just fine.  It's quite sheltered here.  Take care & have a tequila for me, & a beer for Ray.

Hi LeRoy and Carolyn
Need a couple of things, very importante: the # on the alternator belt in the Mercedes, need a spare and I lost the # up here.  Also I need the exact length measurement of the 5/16" bolts holding the exhaust riser to the manifold.

Winds here today are going up to 90km, being pushed along by the two (Isadore and Lili) hurricanes now tropical storms,so it looks like a dirty weekend here.

Otherwise all is well

Hi LeRoy and Carolyn
Well you are in a safer place than we are today, it is 17:30 Wednesday and it is hailing like you would not believe outside!!!
Please check the measurement for the African Queen and or dodger for me,  v important, as I have to order in the materiel to build new ones before we head down.  I think it is the white African Queen and I can get 3.5oz UV dacron for $14.10 metre, the materiel is 60 " wide.<
Wondered about Shad's whereabouts, only saw him once last spring, Still chasing skirts??  Careful Carolyn, realy nice gu, but the hands are faster than the eye can see...
Paved part of our drive today, just two weeks to boats out, have to clean out the boat shed next week.
Did you get the freezer turned on?  The windmill has to be turned on at her own panel. There are many many movies in the cupboard under the VCR. If you turn on the water heater make sure you turn it off again after about 10 minutes, there will be enough for the day.  Regards to Pat, Ray, Lube and Emi and everyone.

Hi LeRoy and Carolyn
Arrived home from Halifax tonight Monday, tired. Put 2000km on the car this last few days.
I only use teak oil on the trim, the deck just gets scrubbed down with teak cleaner, and is let to go grey after, there should be some either under the cockpit seat, or under the aft captain's seat.  If not Cuiqui has some at his store under the bridge.
Need to know if it is the red dodger that has gone bad or the white African Queen, so I can bring down the material to build a new one.  Pat sent a message saying Emi was trying to repair but could'nt, I could not understand which item it was. Let me know ASAP so I can get the materiel.
If it is the African Queen, I need to know the measurement distance between the two masts OK?
All is well here, should try the "chicken steak" at Rosita's, think you will like that

Hi LeRoy and Carolyn
Mary and I are sending this message from Meat Cove, Cape Breton Island.  This is as far as you can go north east in North America.
The population of Meat Cove is 40 and they do not have the pave yet!!!  You can see St Paul's island from here and Newfoundland is over the horizon.
We drove up here from Cheticamp,(about 100 miles each way) where the Coast Guard Competitions are being held tomorrow.
Now we can truly say we have been to the end of the world...  and they have Internet access.
So you see Carolyn, you too can find internet access if you look around.
Glad to hear Whitecap OK, and I just knew that little Suzuki 4.2 would not fail, lock her up at night though.  I lost the ball bearing and the nut for the transmission lever in the bilge last spring.  Tried my dammest to get them with a magnet but couldnt.  Going to have a chat with John Doull about the best way to repair it.
Driving to Halifax on Sunday and back home on Tuesday.  Lois Drummond won a seat to the International Coast Guard Competitions next week in Milwaukie  (spelling) Wis. lucky girl.<br>
Have fun

Hola, como esta? Just received your message, no intentions of night driving anywhere. Especially since Carolyn doesn't drive anywhere. Leaving into Mexico in 30 minutes (10 AM), looking at a $59 cruise (if available), and will be stopping for the night in San Carlos, Mexico, which is reputed to have the best seafood in all of Mexico. We are told camping is just $5 US per night and meals are around $3 each. Also tequila is only (hold on to yourselves) $2.10 a liter!! We will try and post a message tonight from San Carlos!

Hola LeRoy and Carolyn
Slow down, you are making everyone up here dizzy!!! Drive safe in Mex. if you find another van or RV stick together and I do not think it is safe travelling at night, especially in Guatemala.
Pat Burdine says Lube is getting Whitecap spruced up for your arrival, took the "African Queen" off, probably to have it washed. The dinghy is in Pat's little rented house under the bridge, and the 4.2 Suzuki is in the small shed on Lube's deck. I have the lift slings here, an repaired them last week.
All the sheets, towels and stuff are on the Dinette table.
We had the fringe of hurricane Gustave here, winds to 92km from the north, Arjuna broke/cracked the main dock that Cajun Spirit and Explorer were tied to, should have been tied to a pile!!! we are now moved in front of the club, for the rest of the season. The tides were v high, top of the docks were level with the top of the steel wall. Your ramp broke the docks over there also.
All for now
Have fun

My name is Edmund Marco and it's a pleasure to sign your guest book. I work for an advertising agency in London. Our agency represents direct marketing companies that are involved in the marketing of products as seen on TV in England. Most of the infomercial products come from the U.S. but then again we export our talents as well. My brother has appeared in infomercials in the U.S. advertising various products. I think it's hilarious that English people respond so well to American products while Americans tend to respond well to sales people who have an English accent!

Hi to all--My wife and I have been trying to locate some of her Mother`s family who we are fairly sure, still live in Summerside. Her name was Mabel "Phillips" Foley.who lived in Massachusetts until her death. If anyone knows of any Phillips I would deeply appreciate your contacting me, either email or snail mail at 703 Acacia Place, Missouri City, TX 77459. Thank you very kindly for your time.

Dick, Do you realize that failure to up date Captain's Log is punishable by 30 days stoppage of GROG. Are you coming over for the Big Boat Show this week-end in Shediac?

Hi Dick and Mary, glad you made it back home safe and sound, and to see that you got a small taste of what we put up with while you were sunning yourselves down South. See you this summer over a tot of rhum.
Regards
Pat

Hi guys, started vacuuming the kitty cat hair yesterday, they are going to be quite upset to be banned to outside and the basement again. Jennifer was right, Bonnie is a lot bigger. Not a whole lot new here, I'm working on all the new budget purchases for 2002 and the new renovations coming up at City Hall. We are also getting excited about the boat coming home, no name picked out yet. See you all soon, miss ya's.

Crew of Siren III wishing you the best. Talk about a read to get ya in the sailing mood. Hot cabins, sun burns, engine trouble, ill people on board, and music from the 80's(Was Mickey at that bar). Can't wait, see you at the Thaw.
